If you obey God, persecution, offense and slander wars will come. Jesus said they would, especially during the last days of this dispensation. Expect that everything you stand for will be tested. How real are your convictions?
All persecution, including slander, comes with the purpose of causing you to withdraw from your position. We don't believe in withdrawal or retreat. We only have charges. NO retreat allowed! Remember you are neither the first nor the last to be persecuted, just the next one. You are in good company.

Matthew 5:12 "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Things You Should Know
Gossip spreads! All gossip is BOLD and travels in herds. Don't be a receiver of gossip! Cut off the 'phone lines'.
You WILL hear what is being said, even though others may try to shield or protect you from it. It will come to you one way or another because it is aimed at you, to inflict emotional and spiritual pain, and to cause you to withdraw or become a wimp.
Fear always accompanies gossip and slander. Fear and slander are cousins. King David experienced this.
Psalm 31:13 "For I hear the slander of man; fear is on every side; while they take counsel together against me, they scheme to take away my life."
The shock factor of the gossip may cause fear to rise up, but just rise up and punch back at the spiritual source of it! The Bible says to resist fear and it will go from you.
Get Back to Basics
Stick with what you know in your spirit. Don't give place to wonderings when the fear of loss comes. When a slander assignment is set against you, go back to the absolutes, or what you know is sure.
God is still on the throne. He hates wrongdoing and will expose, destroy and bring justice to the wrong that is against you if you will put your trust in Him.
Remember who you are in Christ Jesus. Don't let the words of others create a new identity for you, your church or your ministry. Stay who you are in Christ and how He called you and don't budge! Don't apologize for it!
Remember that God answers prayer. In any war, especially a gossip or slander war, you don't need to talk a lot; you need to pray a lot. When the accusations begin to fly, one of the greatest temptations is to move the battle out of the spiritual realm and into the natural or (soul) realm by talking about it. Don't give voice to the lies. Prayer makes God's power available for us in any situation. You can stop slander and gossip through prayer. Your security must remain in God. God is a good God and He will judge wrongdoing. Notice David's response to a slander war:
Psalm 31:14 "But as for me, I trust in You O Lord; I say You are my God. My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me."

There are three kinds of grace that operate in the life of every believer—saving grace, sanctifying grace and serving grace. All three come from God and are essential for the Christian life and for end-time service in the kingdom of God. Saving grace comes to you when you first hear the gospel and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. In Ephesians 2 and verse 8, the apostle Paul writes: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God…."

"When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit. At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom." (Matthew 27:50) At Easter we remember the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary and how He took the judgment and chastisement for our sins upon Himself. But there's another significant event that took place at the moment Jesus cried out from the cross and yielded up His spirit. Scripture says that the veil in the Jewish Temple was suddenly ripped in two. It was not simply pushed aside, it was violently torn apart from the top to the bottom!

In the midst of believing God for a miracle this Christmas season, or even in the midst of spiritual war, we should know how to have joy. We don't need a new baptism of joy, we need to return to the joy we once had. We need joy to permeate our hearts! King David proclaimed: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit." Psalm 51:10-12 (NKJV)
