What is the beginning of having the life you desire? The very first step is to know you have the power. This is the very first thing I desire my clients to know. You, and only you, have the power to change you. Deep within you are the resources to the life you want, and you can discover and uncover those resources. As a matter of fact, you can pull them right out of yourself.
I am reminded of the story of Eve's creation. Eve was created to be a resource for Adam. God had said it was not good for man to be alone. The Divine caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and then took from Adam a rib to create Eve. After Eve's creation, Adam said she was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh.
What's interesting to me, is that the Divine reached inside Adam to create exactly what Adam needed. Adam had within himself what he needed all along. What was hidden became the very thing that was used to complete Adam. This is true for you too, my friend.
If I had to guess, I bet you have been looking outside yourself for something to complete and fulfill you. This is what Adam did as well. After God had said it was not good for Adam to be alone, the Creator formed all the animals. Then all these animals were sent before Adam to be named, but none of them were considered worthy enough to be Adam's helpers. Scripture says it like this, "But a helper perfect for him was nowhere to be found" (Genesis 2:20, CEB).
It is after the naming of the animals the rib is taken from Adam and Eve is created. Adam then calls her woman because from man she was taken (Genesis 2:23). This is so fascinating!
Pulling it Out
The very thing Adam needed was within himself the whole time, but it had to be pulled out of him. It had to be discovered and uncovered. This is why Scripture teaches, "It is the glory of God to hide something and the glory of kings to discover something" (Proverbs 25:2, CEB).What you need to fulfill and complete yourself and to have the life you desire is already within you. There is no need to look outside yourself. The Divine has already put it within you, and the Creator is waiting for you to discover your hidden potential.
Some may ask, "Why does it have to be hidden? Why can't it be obvious?" The Divine has not hidden it from you but for you. The proof of desire if pursuit. It is your hunger, which will uncover the resources you already carry within yourself. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, CEB). The real question is, "How hungry are you for the life you desire?"
My dad used to tell me, "Son, life does not meet you halfway." This is true. If you really want something, you must ask, seek, and knock. No one is going to walk up to you and just hand you your dream life. The fulfillment of your dreams is the reward of pursuit. The first step is to take the first step.
You have All You Need
While it is true life does not meet you halfway. It is just as equally true that God has given you all you need for success. There is no need for the world to meet you halfway because you can go all the way yourself. You have the potential and the resources already in your possession. You have all you need due to your creation. You are here; therefore, you are equipped.
A fish swims because it is a fish. A bird flies because it is a bird. A frog hops because it is a frog. A dog barks because it is a dog. You are you, and you have all you need to be the unique you to fulfill your specific destiny. The Divine Creator has not left you empty-handed.
You can do you. No one else can do you. Only you can do you. Just do you because everyone else is taken. Trust yourself. While this may sound heretical to some, I do not think it is because the Creator knew what the Creator was doing when you were created. To trust in yourself is to trust the Creator's work. Rest in that fact. You are here. That is proof enough you have all you need to fulfill your unique purpose and destiny. Believe. Pursue. Ask, seek, and knock. What you're looking for will rise from within.
