Prayer is like the engine of our lives that keeps us moving God's direction. It is our life with God, our communion or communication with Him. One of my favorite, and I have to admit "the easiest," way for me to connect with God in prayer is when I pray with my spirit. In the book of 1 Corinthians Paul taught us that we can pray with our spirit (in tongues) and with our understanding. Many times when I am praying with my spirit God will show me things to pray with my understanding. 1 Corinthians 14:14 "I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding."

In the book of 1 Corinthians Paul taught us that we can pray with our spirit (in tongues) and with our understanding. 1 Corinthians 14:14 "I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding."
You begin to hear God's voice when you pray in the spirit. You will receive impressions, inspiration and thoughts while praying. Praying in tongues is truly one of the best ways we can tap into what God is saying to us. When we initiate this engagement with God He pours on us the spirit of wisdom and revelation upon us, giving us direction and understanding for our lives.
Ephesians 1:17-18 "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened."
It is normal to hear God's voice. Sometimes it is just a matter of creating the environment or setting the atmosphere. Be intentional about setting time apart to seek the Lord.

Have you ever struggled to live for God? To be a living sacrifice? Even to just do the things that please Him? Typically, the issue lies in the focus and "the means" of how that is to happen. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 It is through tending to our relationship with God, our communion with the Spirit and focus on the Lord that we are transformed and able to live after His desires. It's all about the relationship.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. Leviticus 6:12-13 Recently I had a dream encounter where the Lord spoke to me that there is a greater need for more "fire on the altar." In this it was apparent that there was a need for prayer to permeate and infiltrate the atmosphere of the region. I could literally sense that the atmosphere was not what it needed to be - more prayer was needed.
