This
painting depicts my favorite season, which is Christmas. The stain glass window
church, with the homes decorated for the Christmas season, is a place I would
love to be for the holidays. Three days after I painted the mountain peak, I
noticed a cross on the mountain ridge under the moon. For this reason, I named
the painting Immanuel’s Crossing, which celebrates the birth of Jesus. Just
above the steeple in the clouds, you will also notice a crown, for Jesus came as
both Lord and King. A friend of mine noticed that the cloud on the left side
had the finger of God pointing to the crown and to the cross, as if, to say:
"Look to my Son, He’s King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” I remember wanting to
make it more round after painting it, and hearing the Lord say: "Leave it, for
clouds come in all shapes and sizes,” so I immediately moved my hand away and
left it.
My Mission and the Mike DeLorenzo Art Gallery is to inspire and to share the revelational aspect of art in God's coming Kingdom.
I am inspired to paint this art which gives insight into the heart and mind of our Lord and Savior.
