God wants us to have fruitfulness and longevity in our assignments. 

But the enemy wants to destroy our assignment. One of the important ways Satan uses to destroy our assignment is through personal sins and desires. Finney said, "give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the Kingdom of Heaven on earth".
