God is alive and well today and He still speaks to us, but many people don't know how to hear Him. So, I thought I would talk today about some of the ways God speaks that you can recognize. God speaks through many ways but here are some more common ones. God speaks through the Bible and illumination; God will illuminate or make something you read in scripture just apply to you and hit you between the eyes. Through teachers or preachers and sermons. There will be sermons or teachings that just speak to you and hit home.

God is alive and well today and He still speaks to us, but many people don’t know how to hear Him. So, I thought I would talk today about some of the ways God speaks that you can recognize. God speaks through many ways but here are some more common ones.
 
• God speaks through the Bible and illumination; God will illuminate or make something you read in scripture just apply to you and hit you between the eyes.
 
• Through teachers or preachers and sermons. There will be sermons or teachings that just speak to you and hit home.
 
• Through other people. Other people will say something that speaks to you or really applies to you and is something you need to be aware of.
 
• Through circumstances. Circumstances can speak to you, maybe that thing that is going on in your life is trying to tell you something, maybe you need to learn something from it. It could be God speaking.
 
• Through trials, trials can be the same as circumstances. God could be trying to teach you something through it.
 
• Through closed doors. We all have experienced closed doors, they are frustrating but it could be God saying you shouldn’t go that way.
 
• Through music. God can and does speak through music, music has a way of touching our heart and I have had songs that spoke to me and got me to see something or free of something that I needed to get free of.
 
• Through prayer. God can reveal things to us in prayer, prayer is a conversation with God, and God can show us things in prayer or put something on our heart or give us peace which is God saying don’t worry it's going to be ok.
 
• Through putting something on our heart. God will put things on our heart in order to speak to us or direct us.
 
• Through creation. God can use creation and the beauty of this world to speak to us, to the unbeliever as well as the believer. God shows us just how real He is through the complexity and beauty of creation.
 
• Through our conscience. When our conscience is speaking it may be God. The Bible talks about not going against our conscience.
 
• He may speak prophetically through prophetic people. There are people with spiritual gifts God can use to spiritually speak to you and no I am not referring to psychics.
 
• Through a divine knowing. You just know something to be true deep down and just know something. Well God could have put that there.
 
• Through a vision or picture in your mind. You can see pictures from the Holy Spirit in our minds showing us things and speaking to us. It happened in the Bible.
 
• Through a voice in your mind. Like you may hear a phrase or a word comes to mind. God can speak to your mind and put something on your mind.
 
• Through dreams. God used dreams in the Bible and still uses them today!
 
• Through bringing scripture to mind. God will bring scripture to your mind to speak to you or get you to realize something.
 
• Through things that aren’t just coincidences and through synchronicities. You know the strange things that happen that can’t be a coincidence. God uses them all the time, they seem supernatural and like they have to be God.
 
Those are just some of the ways God can and does speak, there could be more, you can’t limit God or put him in a box. God can use anything and anyway to speak to us.
 
We just have to be open to listen. I pray, Father God, that we are thankful you still speak today and that you are alive and well, that you care about our lives, help us to know when you are speaking and when you are not and help us to be obedient and get the message. In Jesus name I pray Amen!

Throughout the ages, there have been some mighty moves of God and revivals.  These great moves of God have brought people into the kingdom, influenced our society, and changed the church as we know it.  These moves have become part of our history.  But a lot of people don't believe they are history.  Many people are longing for God to move again.  Many prophetic voices have foretold a great move of God yet to come.  Hearts are hungry and people are crying out for God to move, they are calling for revival. And with the state our culture is in God knows we desperately need it. 
I have been a Christian for many years now. And over the years God has done some amazing things. But there was one thing that was hard to miss and that was the things that were wrong with the church. It has caused me much pain and even had caused me to leave Christianity at one point. It actually wasn't the only factor in my decision to do so but it certainly was a big contributor. The thing is though what I have found is that I saw some of the same issues with secular organizations that I joined and with non-Christians. A theme seemed to be there, and all the same problems arose.
Some people want to be loved by others. They feel they need the love of their father, mother, friends, spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, their children, strangers, and even God. They go looking for love in all kinds of places from all kinds of people. But the truth is, the person who matters most to love you is you. You need your love more than anyone else's. As the saying goes, how can you love others unless you love yourself.
