In Tune with the Holy Spirit by Elaine Tavolacci

Christians often say that they feel "led" to do something, meaning that they think or sense that the Holy Spirit is leading them in a particular direction. Yet many struggle to discern whether it's truly Gods voice or just their own thoughts and desires. Being led by the Holy Spirit is being in tune with Him. The Lord desires for every believer to be led by the Holy Spirit. He wants to make His voice known and is releasing revelation to those who are positioned to hear it.

Christians often say that they feel "led" to do something, meaning that they think or sense that the Holy Spirit is leading them in a particular direction. Yet many struggle to discern whether it’s truly Gods voice or just their own thoughts and desires. Being led by the Holy Spirit is being in tune with Him. The Lord desires for every believer to be led by the Holy Spirit. He wants to make His voice known and is releasing revelation to those who are positioned to hear it.

As believers, it is crucial to be led by The Holy Spirit. Being led by the Holy Spirit is being synchronized with Him. Synchronizing means to coordinate or match two or more things. In technology it may be to connect devices, data or systems so that they are identical, up to date, and work together perfectly. When we are synced with the Holy Spirit, our thoughts, words and actions are aligned with His thoughts, will and purposes.

Synchronizing also means to unify the timing of two or more things, like coordinating the time on two clocks. It’s about creating harmony by regulating the pace, movement or operation of multiple elements to work together smoothly. Synchronizing involves matching sounds, actions, or events precisely, like coordinating footsteps with someone else’s movements. It’s about achieving a harmonious alignment where everything works together in perfect time and agreement.

Being “led” is not just a religious phrase, spiritual buzzword or a Christian cliché, but it’s a vital part of our walk with The Lord if we want to hear His voice and know His ways. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and He is our guide, counselor, and comforter. He reveals truth to us and helps us discern right from wrong. He leads us so that we will have a deeper understanding of God’s purposes and plans.

Every one of us has the potential to develop a deeper sensitivity to The Holy Spirits guidance. By applying the principle in Hebrews 5:14, we can develop our spiritual awareness to discern the atmosphere around us. With practice and commitment, we can cultivate the ability to perceive what's happening in the spiritual realm and understand the movements of the Holy Spirit and even the angelic realm.

Being led by The Holy Spirit not only involves listening to His direction but also acknowledging His convictions. When we first surrendered our lives to The Lord, we were sensitive to that gentle whisper that cautioned us when something wasn’t aligned with Gods will. However, as we’ve grown comfortable in our relationship with Jesus, we often neglect to pay attention to the gentle nudges and convictions in our hearts.

We could be lead astray if we ignore them. We need to walk in holiness to obtain the fullness of His promises. This will save you from a lot of pain and regret. If The Lord is dealing with you in a particular situation, it’s for your own benefit. There may be things in your life that God is seeking to refine or remove because they’re causing you harm. If you’re entangled in a sinful pattern, it can lead to spiritual decay and destruction.

You cannot take ground from the enemy if he has any ground in you. 1 Corinthians 5 in The Passion Translation says:

“Boasting over your tolerance of sin is inappropriate. Don’t you understand that even a small compromise with sin permeates the entire fellowship, just as a little leaven permeates a batch of dough?” 1 Corinthians 5:6

When people begin to pay the price of dying to self and being led by the Holy Spirit, then they will see God move in their lives in a mighty way. That will open up the floodgates of heaven over our lives. We need to remember that signs and wonders flow through people. The gifts of the Holy Spirit flow through people who are submitted to God. Jesus is calling you today to return to the relationship that you once had with him when you first believed.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 12:2 NKJV "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
